Because the Brigham Hill Community Barn is reserved for nonprofit and civic functions, we are sorry but we cannot accommodate weddings and other private parties. We receive many such requests, and these would quickly overwhelm the barn schedule and make the facility unavailable for its primary purpose.
If you're looking for a venue for a private function in the area, you can try one of the following:
The barn is available at no cost to local and regional nonprofit charitable, civic and educational organizations, subject to policy and schedule limitations.
We are typically able to accommodate a variety of events at the barn, including meetings, board retreats, scout sleepovers, lectures and presentations, dinners, barbeques, music events, etc. Due to limitations of facility size and parking, we cannot reasonably accommodate more than 60 people.
We also welcome groups that wish to combine volunteering at the farm with an event at the barn. To make such arrangements, please contact Community Harvest Project.
We try to maintain the following facilities for users of the barn:
First-time users of the barn must have an orientation visit prior to their event. The barn is not staffed, and we therefore rely on informed users to insure that events run smoothly and the barn is properly opened, used and closed.
Follow these steps to schedule your event:
Please note, however, that we cannot accommodate requests for periodic (weekly or monthly) meetings.
If you want to have food service for your event, you can select any caterer you wish, or bring your own food (note that public events require a local Board of Health permit). Here are a number of caterers who have provided food for barn events in the past:
